Warehouse Supervisor - Wilmington, MA

The Challenge

  • Responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the both the Raw Material and Final Product Warehouses (including both Shipping & Receiving) to assure that production and warehousing requirements are met in a SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) responsible manner, while meeting all quality standards.
  • The Warehouse Manager is also accountable for organizing and executing cycle counts and physical inventory.
  • Serves as Transport Safety Coordinator (TSC) for Wilmington, MA site

 

The Position

  • Responsible that all associates are properly trained in all DSM Safety requirements and monitor associate’s performance in this area.
  • Physical receipt of materials
  • Storage of all inventory including packaging supplies, raw materials and consignment inventory
  • Inventory control; including the Management of an Cycle Count Program
  • Waste Management; including the disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials (under the direction of the SHE department)
  • Staging Production orders in a timely manner to ensure no down-time in Production
  • Picking, packing, and shipping out all sales orders to our customer, accurately labelled within customer expectations
  • Documentation must be retained per procedures.
  • Documents procedures, and assures that all associates under his/her control are performing to established standards, meet all competency requirements, and seeks opportunities for improvement with respect to safety and quality.
  • Tracks the training of associates to ensure employee opportunities are realized.
  • Maintains clear communication channels with Production, Quality Control and SCM.
  • Develop, track and report key indicators, (weekly/monthly) for this department. Analyzes department effectiveness, and initiates and implements improvement initiatives
  • Lean involvement (both participating and updating metrics)

 

The Ideal

  • High School Diploma required as well as a minimum of 2 years experience.
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Warehousing, and or Supply Chain environments.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and/or Supply Chain a plus.
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus but not required.
  • SAP experience a plus but will consider other ERP experience.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.
  • Likes to take initiative and is result oriented, adaptable, and customer focused
