Quality Technician (Pet Premix), 1st shift
Location: Tonganoxie, KS
Onsite Monday – Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm (May move to 4-10 hour days in the future, 6am-4:30pm, Monday-Thursday, To Be Determined)
As a Quality Technician at our Brand New (Premix) Animal Nutrition and Health location in Tonganoxie, KS, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of pet premix products through testing, inspection, and adherence to regulatory standards. This role involves monitoring production processes, conducting laboratory analyses, and maintaining documentation to support quality assurance programs.

Responsibilities:
- Perform quality control checks on raw materials, in-process production, and finished pet products.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, inspections, and deviations, ensuring adherence to documentation protocols.
- Assist in investigating non-conformances, customer complaints, and root cause analyses to drive corrective actions.
- Monitor and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other quality/safety regulations.
- Collaborate with production and nutritional science teams to ensure product consistency and compliance with formulation standards.
- Support audits (internal, customer, and regulatory) by providing necessary documentation and assistance.
- Implement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and promote a culture of quality and compliance within the facility.

You bring:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
- 1-3 years’ experience in quality assurance/quality control, preferably in pet food, animal nutrition, feed, or food manufacturing.
- Experience with lab testing, GMP, HACCP, and regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, AAFCO, FSSC 22000).

- Ability to identify inconsistencies and ensure adherence to strict quality standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting quality-related issues.
- Clear verbal and written communication for reporting results and working with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems (QMS) software.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing/laboratory environment with exposure to raw materials, chemicals, and machinery.
- May require lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, and working in varying temperatures.
