Are you passionate about pet nutrition and ready to make a real impact in the industry? We’re seeking a skilled and driven Formulation Expert, Pet Food Premix to lead the formulation and label development of pet food premixes across North America. In this dynamic role, you’ll craft and refine premix formulations, ensure seamless transfers between blend plants, and translate customer needs into compliant, high-quality products. You’ll collaborate closely with customers, account managers, and production teams to support operations, regulatory compliance, ingredient innovation, and customer satisfaction—playing a key role in delivering safe, nutritious, and tailored pet food solutions.

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulation of premixes for North American pet food blend plant including modification of existing formulations
  • Develop premix labels as required for production
  • Ensure compliance with FDA/AAFCO feed regulation
  • Approve ingredient sources via SQM Trackwise, including sample evaluation
  • Maintain Ingredient Risk Assessment (IRA), Approved Products List (APL), and Incoming Ingredient Checklist
  • Conduct HACCP, FSMA, and SHE risk assessments for ingredients

You Bring:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in premix formulation or pet food formulation
  • Experience in pet food industry is highly preferred, including ingredient quality area
  • Strong competences in formulation software (BESTMIX, SAP formulation tools, BRILL) highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of FDA/AAFCO feed regulations and be able to apply them to premix usage and labelling preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO, HAACP and cGMPs preferred
  • Master of Science Degree required, preferably in animal nutrition with a specialization in Pet Nutrition
