This Technician/Senior Technician, E&I role supports safe, compliant, and high-performing manufacturing operations. You will execute preventive and corrective maintenance across industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and basic PLC controls, troubleshooting complex issues in motors, VFDs, MCCs, and field devices. The position partners closely with Engineering and Automation to strengthen control systems, reduce downtime, and improve process stability. With a strong focus on safety and GMP standards, you will apply structured root cause analysis and technical judgment in a fast-paced production environment. This role suits an experienced E&I professional who values hands-on problem solving, accountability, and operational excellence.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to support safe and reliable operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair motors, VFDs, MCCs, PLC I/O, and field instrumentation using structured root cause analysis.
  • Perform instrumentation calibration, loop checks, and verify control system integrity.
  • Partner with Engineering and Automation on system upgrades, modifications, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in SAP/CMMS and monitor spare parts inventory.
  • Uphold all safety, GMP, and regulatory standards, supporting on-call and emergency maintenance as required.

You bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, technical or secondary education preferred.
  • 5+ years of industrial Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance experience, ideally in a GMP or chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across motors, VFDs, MCCs, PLC I/O, and field instrumentation.
  • Experience with SAP or other CMMS systems; DeltaV DCS experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of electrical safety standards, PSM, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, communicate clearly, and support on-call or shift work as needed.

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $30.00-$35.00.
