The Technical Sourcing Manager, i-Health will lead sourcing initiatives for contract-manufactured products and critical components. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and leadership skills to manage supplier relationships, drive cost optimization, and ensure supply continuity. The Manager will oversee a team or key projects, partner with cross-functional stakeholders, and influence decisions that impact global operations. The Technical Sourcing Manager plays a critical leadership role in all aspects of product and component sourcing. The position requires strong cross functional collaboration across the organization, a passion for excellence and an obsession with customer and consumer service. The incumbent will bring innovative thought leadership in CPG sourcing, with agility and flexibility. There is a strong focus on quality, service and cost savings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers to support innovation and capacity needs.
    • Support Innovation team and initiatives related to sourcing and costing.
    • Lead negotiations for agreements with contract manufacturers and raw material suppliers.
    • Drive supplier performance and strategic partnerships to optimize the supply base.
  • Technical & Operational Excellence
    • Collaborate with Quality, and Technical Operations to ensure technical feasibility and compliance.
    • Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify savings opportunities.
    • Champion cost and process improvement initiatives.
  • Team & Stakeholder Management
    • Advise senior stakeholders on sourcing and risk mitigation.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to sourcing analysts.
  • Risk & Compliance
    • Develop contingency plans for critical suppliers and ensure surety of supply.
    • Monitor supplier performance and lead corrective actions when needed.
    • Ensure suppliers adhere to company standards, regulatory requirements, and sustainability goals.
  • Financial Impact
    • Deliver annual cost savings targets through strategic sourcing and other cost saving initiatives.
    • Manage budgets for assigned categories and report on financial performance

You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience managing contract manufacturers and global supply chains in a fast paced CPG retail and e-commerce environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the consumer packaged goods sector utilizing a contract manufacturing model.
  • Experience working in CPG/Manufacturing/Dietary Supplements ideal/preferred.
  • Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and product formulations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, GMP, etc.).
  • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and cost modelling tools.
  • Advanced negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders and manage complex projects.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel ~25% (mostly domestic/some international).

 

The position requires innovative thinking and excellent cross functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. There is a heavy focus on continuous improvement, agility and flexibility to support the business needs with a mindset of “flawless execution”. There is a high level of strategic thought leadership together with a day to day focus on execution. There is an expectation that the incumbent will bring best practices to the role to continue to enhance sourcing practices.

 
The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. (Salaried: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00)
 
In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits.
