To accelerate the business growth of HNC through customer-centric science-backed solutions, the Technical Business Development Manager, Nutritional Lipids (Algal & Marine) & Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs) has a critical in solution-selling – translating customer pain points into viable technical solutions by coordinating between the commercial and technical teams. The role supports the clear creation and delivery of science-backed technical value propositions and supports revenue growth for the business.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and translate customer pain points into technical solutions by engaging directly with customers alongside Account Managers, thus supporting project conversion and value creation.
- Apply deep technical expertise in dsm-firmenich’s Nutritional Lipids (Algal & Marine) & Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs) portfolio to craft differentiated, science-backed value propositions.
- Coordinate between commercial and technical teams mobilizing internal expert networks (e.g., Regulatory, Quality, Science, A&F) to co-develop robust, compliant, and innovative customer solutions.
- Deliver or coordinate technical sales support across the customer journey - pre- and post-sales - ensuring optimal product application, performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead external engagement through product presentations, technical trainings, innovation workshops and participation in technical events/ conferences, positioning dsm-firmenich as a trusted technical partner.
- Provide strategic feedback to Marketing, Sales, and other key stakeholders (e.g., Innovation, Product Management) on delivered customer value and portfolio gaps, helping to shape future offerings and guide the innovation pipeline.
- Build strong relationships with customer technical teams, including site visits, to uncover operational challenges/ pain points/ business opportunities and co-create tailored, high-impact solutions.

You Bring:
- Minimally a Degree in Science (example: Nutrition, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Food Science, Life science or relevant).
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in B2B speciality chemicals, especially human nutrition & health industry, or 8-10 years’ experience in an adjacent and relevant B2B industry. Experience in Nutritional Lipids & HMOs is a plus.
- Preferably with good experience in product development/ management in the dietary supplement and health food industry &/or technical product marketing in a relevant field. Experience in a customer-facing business development role will be an added bonus. Experience in Regional or Global organisations, working with multiple stakeholders across geographies and cultures.
- Customer-centric self-starter, good at working well independently with initiatives. Structured & well-organized. Resourceful, analytical & strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task, manage a demanding work schedule (due to cross-regional collaboration needed) to meet specific non-negotiable deadlines.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills - Team player and a Consensus builder both internally and externally.
- Proven project management skills across different functions, and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a matrix setup. Professional communication & negotiation skills. Travelling is expected.
