We are currently looking for a Junior Futurist at our Princeton, NJ office.

 

The 2026 dsm-firmenich Summer Internship Program will run from June 1, 2026 to August 14, 2026.

 

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

Your key responsibilities

 

Assist the Sr. Mgr. of Foresight & Design in:

  • the research and analysis of signals for pre-trend identification
  • mapping out potential TrenzWalks (domestically)
  • creating presentations that bring Foresight & Design’s insight to life in an engaging way
  • publishing insights both internally and externally
  • expanding on and leveraging Foresight & Design’s existing work
  • improving systems and workflows
  • Project(s) will be assigned based on applicant's overall capabilities and timeframe

You Bring

 

  • You spot what others miss, stay ahead of the curve, and connect ideas across disciplines
  • Interest In developing marketing stories for the future of food & beverage creation
  • Excellent written communication skills as well as an interest in popular culture and design
  • Ability to adapt to “house style” in terms of brand voice and look
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Canva are a must. Understanding of AI tools is helpful.
  • Please send a “portfolio” that shows us how you view the world + how you share that with others. It can be anything – a blog, social media page, sketchbook, short story, etc.

 

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour.  Compensation will be dependent on factors that include location, education, training, specific skills, and years of experience.

 

At the end of this internship, you will:

 

  • Learn methodology for strategic foresight by observing and identifying signals across culture, design, food, and consumer behavior
  • Build skills in “design thinking” – giving shape to ideas through engaging visuals, storytelling, and presentations
  • Gain exposure to how a global foresight team works day‑to‑day, including tools, workflows, and collaboration across teams/regions.
