As a Sr. Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work. He/she is responsible to the Site Manager of Operations for the efficient and effective use of performing and scheduling all resources to conduct maintenance activities which result in minimum downtime and maximum productivity. The Sr. Maintenance Technician is empowered to perform and manage work priority, develop job plans, define/order parts and material and perform or engage the proper resources to develop a safe, effective and efficient work completion plan. In addition, the Sr. Maintenance Technician provides the equipment-related expertise and technical guidance on improving Preventive Maintenance activities. In order to effectively perform these activities, he/she must be proficient in completing the tasks as well as development and communication of maintenance plans along with the use of computer-based programs (Internet, Word, Excel, SAP, CMMS).
Your Key Responsibilities:
• Handle and ensure handling in accordance with legal & corporate requirements and work processes regarding SHE and good housekeeping, resulting in no incidents and continuous improvement of SHE results.
• Ensure compliance with local Legislation, Corporate, Business Groups, SHE and Quality requirements within the Corrective, Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Plan (PPM) to ensure Asset Integrity.
• Forecast, schedule and perform all PMs on equipment throughout site to ensure compliance. Coordinate maintenance with manufacturing personnel.
• Perform and coordinate maintenance schedule to support PM completion. Ensure that he/she has the proper training and/or certification necessary or that the contractors coming to the site to execute said work have the proper training and/or certification necessary to carry out such jobs. Including understanding of site SHE.
• Ensure materials and supplies are ordered and available for Corrective and PMs.
• Review PM schedule completion of activities if necessary.
• Oversee emergency repairs and schedule personnel accordingly. Prioritize activities when needed; ability to reschedule PMs to accommodate emergencies.
• Support site management with the translation of the predictive & preventive maintenance plan into specific preventive maintenance activities and procedures.
• Coordinate the availability of critical and other spare parts for the plant.
• Support and comply with the policy of reporting incidents, near misses, and improvement possibilities and check that activities are routinely risk assessed.
• Act in such a way that safety awareness and accident prevention are considered in performing all tasks.
• Involved in setting up and reviewing SHE plan requirements by participating in SHE activities, along with Safe-Start stories.
• Draft safe work permits, supports reviewing/completion of safe work permits in cooperation with the authorizing department.
• Responsible for project management support of yearly capital projects.
• Responsible for maintenance purchasing for yearly work.
• Work with operations in times of need.

You Bring:
• High School degree or higher is required.
• 1-3 years of maintenance software usage and 5-10 years as a machine repair technician, or equivalent combination of both.
• Knowledge and understanding of production operations and material planning.
• Electrical/mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (SAP preferred) or experience with Predictive & Preventive Maintenance (PdM/PM).
• Ability to monitor and review statistical data and translate into usable information.
• Experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Experience in FDA/USDA regulated production environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
• Project management and capital project experience preferred.
The hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Hourly rate is $31.00-$39.00.
