Reporting to the Portfolio & Application Director and collaborating closely with our Sugar Reduction Innovation and Commercial teams, you will design, test, and optimize groundbreaking applications that highlight the unique benefits of our sugar reduction portfolio. This role is pivotal in achieving our ambitious business goals and requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and excellent communication abilities.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage global initiatives focused on the sugar reduction solutions portfolio lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives. Provide technical expertise, recommendations, and support to internal teams and external customers in key projects, addressing specific application challenges and opportunities. Key contribution to the portfolio strategy
- Design outstanding product formulations to showcase the performance of sugar reduction solutions in multiple food matrices. Conduct hands-on lab work, including application, testing, and optimization of sugar reduction applications in different product categories to convey value propositions and added value. Coordinate sensory and stability evaluations to validate the effectiveness and acceptability of sugar reduction solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in sugar reduction technologies and incorporate relevant innovations into project initiatives. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in all project activities.
- Coach and train peers and key stakeholders on the benefits and applications of sugar reduction and taste modulation solutions.
- Document and communicate project progress, results, and recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to effectively convey technical findings, project outcomes, methodologies, and ways of working.
- Engage in customer activities by leading regional “must-win” projects with clear deliverables and direct business impacts

You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in the food ingredients/flavors industry, specifically in product development and application roles.
- Hands-on experience with sugar reduction technologies and their application in various food products. Specific product category or relevant ingredient expertise (specially plant-based sweeteners, bulking agents, etc) is highly valued.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, formulation, and analytical testing related to food applications, including sensory evaluations.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results on time.Proven ability to document and communicate project progress, results, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex and muti-stakeholder innovation projects. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on practical and innovative solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and influence key stakeholders and clients (both internal and external).
- A results-driven mindset, with a focus on achieving technical and business objectives.
