Job Title: Site Security Supervisor
Location: Midrand, South Africa
The Site Security Supervisor is responsible for protecting people, assets, and facilities across multiple dsm‑firmenich locations within the Midrand area. This role ensures seamless coordination of all security operations—from third‑party guarding and advanced security systems to risk assessments, emergency readiness, and incident management. Acting as the on‑the‑ground security ambassador, the Supervisor drives compliance, strengthens our security culture, and ensures that every site within the region remains safe, resilient, and operationally secure.
Your key responsibilities
- Manage daily site security operations including access control, CCTV, perimeter protection, alarm systems, and third‑party guarding.
- Conduct regular security risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement improvements to maintain compliance.
- Oversee and challenge third‑party security provider performance, ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to standards.
- Support business continuity, emergency planning, and coordinate site emergency response activities.
- Ensure accurate reporting, classification, and investigation of security incidents, escalating serious cases when required.
- Promote security awareness, deliver site training activities, and embed best practices in daily operations.
- Maintain strong communication with Group Security, regional leadership, and site teams regarding threats, risks, and security updates.
- Travel across multiple dsm‑firmenich sites in the Midrand area (within approximately ±25 km), ensuring consistent security oversight and operational support across all assigned locations.

You bring
- Demonstrate 2 years’ security experience, preferably in a supervisory or site management role in a manufacturing or operational environment.
- Relevant security qualifications are preferred but not essential.
- Good communication skills, ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key business stakeholders, suppliers, service providers and customers.
- Be computer literate and be able to demonstrate report writing skills.
- Good knowledge of physical security systems, to include CCTV surveillance, perimeter detection and intruder alarms, with demonstrated experience of managing systems, services and people.
- Experience of 3rd party security and supplier management.
- Maintains effective relations with local law enforcement and associated agency contacts.
- Possession of a valid PSiRA certificate, as required for individuals working in the South African private security industry to ensure legal compliance and verified competency.
