The Senior Technician is responsible for coordinating and executing routine and non-routine laboratory testing, according to GMP/GLP rules, of in-process samples obtained from Operations and the Fermentation Pilot Plant. Assisting in the execution of planned Pilot Plant activities according to established timelines. Maintaining laboratory and some production instrumentation, notebooks, records, and data management as needed for analysis as well as ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Autonomous accomplishment of analysis / testing in the Laboratory with emphasis on organized daily routine.
- Broad knowledge of different analytical / microbiological techniques. Responsibility for Laboratory and some Operations analytical equipment.
- Administrative tasks such as writing SOP’s and procurement of laboratory/pilot plant and some operations supplies. Recommend updates of SOPs when needed.
- Knowledge of the Management-of-Change (MOC) process.
- Maintains, calibrates, validates, monitors, and troubleshoots laboratory equipment.
- Performs calculations, collets, and prepares data for evaluation.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Belvidere Leadership Team.

You Bring:
- Bachelors’ degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry preferred.
- 1 year experience in microbiology laboratory/fermentation environment.
- Broad / General knowledge of quality control techniques and methods.
- Broad understanding of safety, hygiene and GMP rules
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of most common IT programs (e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel).
- Available to work training hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, for the duration of the training period.
- Available to work flexible rotating shift hours including weekends and occasional holidays after training.
The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Hourly $23.41-$33.37.
