Senior Technician, Maintenance - Mechanical

Kingstree, SC

On-Site, M-F, 7AM-4:30PM

 

The Senior Technician, Maintenance is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical equipment and systems across the manufacturing site. This role covers both preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, gearboxes, compressors, agitators, piping systems, and other critical assets. Key responsibilities include maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical systems (including hydraulics, chillers, mechanical transmissions, and seals), performing preventive maintenance, responding to emergency repairs, and supporting production uptime. Flexibility to work any shift and be on call as needed is essential.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks and work orders efficiently while ensuring a safe and clean cGMP-compliant work environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols including lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry, hot work, and working at heights.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures, recommending solutions to reduce downtime and repair costs.
  • Use CMMS (SAP) to access and update work orders, equipment status, and spare parts information.
  • Maintain effective communication with production teams and ensure detailed, documented handovers across shifts.
  • Support training and cross-training efforts, provide feedback on spare parts and training needs, and assist with onboarding new personnel.

You bring

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education in industrial maintenance preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in plant mechanical maintenance, including pipefitting, millwright work, and welding
  • Completion of Level II mechanical maintenance training
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks independently with attention to detail
  • Willingness to support after-hours operations during call-in weeks
