To support our continued growth, the LCP (Large Capital Project) organization at dsm-firmenich in the Americas is preparing for a significant increase in workload over the next few years. As the company’s expert team in delivering large capital projects, we provide critical support to all business units. To ensure the successful execution of our expanding project portfolio, we are seeking talented individuals to join our team.
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager (Manufacturing Facilities Construction and Technology Transfer) at our Plainsboro facility.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of projects related to engineering, procurement, construction, and startup, with a focus on installing new production lines and constructing greenfield factories. You will lead project planning and scheduling efforts, and co-own project outcomes. Depending on project size and portfolio needs, you may also take on the role of Senior Project Manager or Senior Engineering Manager. Our Plainsboro campus, which serves as our regional headquarters, includes two factories, offices, a warehouse, and laboratories.

Your key responsibilities:
- Safely deliver Large Capital Projects on time, on budget and in scope with travel up to 35%
- Collaborate with operation teams to deliver lean production plants
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary cross-functional project teams
- Master contractual partnerships to deliver successfully each workstreams and coordinate them
- Escalate risk to the leadership team and course correct as needed
- Carry out the role of a site Project Manager/Engineering Manager as the situations demand
This position is eligible for the dsm-firmenich Hybrid Working model, spending 2 - 3 days per week in office and the balance of the work week in a home office. You can potentially expect to spend 5 days a week on site during active construction periods. You must reside in a geography that is commutable via car to Princeton, NJ and, ideally, to Exton, PA and Newark, NJ.

You bring
- Minimum 10 years of project management in industrial large capital projects greater than $15M (food, perfumery, oil & gas, pharmaceutical and/or biomedical strongly preferred)
- Expertise in Project execution plan, interface management, contracting strategy and scheduling
- Excellent track record of stakeholder management and management of multi-disciplinary teams
- Track record of an engineering manager role handling successful delivery of engineering projects
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- General knowledge of current regulations (American Society of Mechanical Engineers, OSHA, GMP, HAZOP)
- PMI, PMP Certification is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree required, with preference for an engineering discipline
