Senior Fragrance Development Manager, Perfumery & Beauty – Princeton, NJ
Location: Princeton, NJ, US
As a Senior Fragrance Development Manager, you’ll drive mutual success by developing winning fragrances for our clients’ brands. With a growth mindset, leadership, and expertise in Air Care and Surface Care evaluation, you’ll be a close partner to our perfumers, you’ll shape olfactive & development strategies and you’ll anticipate business needs.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Recommend and defend submissions with deep olfactive and brand knowledge
- Guide perfumers with precise, strategic feedback on olfactive direction
- Detect trends and propose proactive fragrance ideas across brands and categories
- Lead key fragrance development projects from brief to win, managing timing, quality, and team collaboration
- Use Firmenich tools (Project Master, Encyclopedia, Collection) to capture and share knowledge
- Participate in defining and executing the category strategy (with CI, CMI, Technical, Sales, and Perfumers)

You Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in fragrance development in the air care and surface care categories
- Strong track record of project wins and successful olfactive recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and influence others
- Expertise in both olfactive structure and brand/market positioning
- Consumer Insight analysis
- Bachelor's degree
The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $130,000-$160,000.
In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits. All benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements.
