The Business Unit HNH is organized in 5 regions and multiple segments. Premix Operations is organized in the same 5 regions and serves both HNH as well as the TTH Business Unit. The Operations Director has a reporting line to the Global VP Premix Operations. 

The Greater China region has its premix production location in Xinghuo, Shanghai. The major segments served are Early Life Nutrition, Dietary Supplements, Medical Nutrion and Food and Beverages. A large part of the sales is with large national and international customers, many of whom are world leaders in their field. Besides Premix, the regional responsibility covers MRS Operations and the 3rd party manufacturing management to produce Market Ready Solutions, such as for the dietary supplements end-market.  

The Director of Operations must be able to communicate and translate business strategy into operational objectives and enablers. Regular communication with finance, commercial management, technical marketing, human resources, sales/account management, IT and customers is critical for gauging progress against goals and expectations both internally and externally. 

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the regional Premix Operations organization, including the Xinghuo production location and regional staff. 
  • Responsible for Premix production, quality, supply chain and projects. Steers and sets priorities and standards towards Purchasing for third party raw material supply and Formulation. 
  • Responsible for 3rd Party Manufacturing (Tolling/CMO) management for MRS products. 
  • Implement and maintain a strong SHE & Security management system, based on company values and applicable legislation, develop safety culture, the necessary competences and provide resources where needed. 
  • Establish a quality assurance and quality control process to ensure products, including MRS, meet customer expectations and/or agreements, standards of certifying bodies and install an improve loop to learn from deviations and reduce the cost of  
    (non-)quality. 
  • Build an engaged and inclusive organization, covering the necessary operations competences and a culture of continuous improvement.  
  • Being member of the Premix Operations Leadership Team as well as the HNNH/TTH GC Leadership Team. 
  • Develop and implement regional Premix & MRS Operations strategies as well as an Asset & Maintenance strategy, to enable business growth, stay competitive and ensure long-term efficient operations. This includes taking on the role of Project Director for the future Regional  Asset Strategy. 
  • Define an annual Operations plan along with the annual production budget, reflecting the supply plan, KPI’s and improvement initiatives. Establish a performance management system to regularly evaluate progress and address deviations. 
  • Manage the Capex budget assigned to the region to maintain and improve assets and implement the regional premix strategy, in a transparent and cost-effective way. 
  • Build a culture and skills in continuous improvement, establish a process of prioritization of opportunities and tracking of results.

You bring

  • Bachelor or Master level, technical or engineering degree with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in Operations or Supply Chain.  
  • A minimum of ten to fifteen years of plant and/or supply chain management experience in life-science industry. 
  • Experience in feed/food, beverage or pharma industry, working with related industry quality systems. 
  • Experience in implementing strategies and managing complex change and investment projects. 
  • Leadership capability to lead a large organization, with strong people and coaching skills. 
  • In-depth knowledge of business and planning cycle including sales and order-to-cash processes. 
  • Strategic thinking both in business and operational processes. 
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and understanding of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.  
  • Pragmatic, with good self-organizational skills, cross-cultural sensitivity and customer focus.
