The Next Generation Solutions business segment includes our advanced drug delivery business and our emerging global application solutions business.  Biomedical’s products and services are recognized for their unmatched quality, consistency, and performance in multiple markets across the globe, supporting their company-wide vision of solving the world’s healthcare needs through sustainable science.

 

You’ll be responsible for the global leadership and management of the Next Generation Solutions business and for the global growth strategy and business performance (P&L responsibility) and sit on the Global Leadership Team for Health, Nutrition & Care Biomedical.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage the business (P&L) of the Next Generation Solutions segment which includes our Pharma Drug Delivery Solutions and the emerging Application Solutions segment.  Define  and implement respective business strategies to grow the business through organic or external growth projects.
  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of the Biomedical Division Strategy (e.g. via definition and sponsorship of projects). Maintain and develop the product, technology and service portfolio for the business segment.
  • Collaborate with marketing and commercial operations on pricing guidelines/licensing terms.  Select customer projects and internal innovation projects and the respective prioritization for internal projects.
  • Develop the communication strategy to the market and the marketing plan with Head of Market Communications.  Monitor the market environment (market trends, customers and competitors) and to communicate the findings on a regular basis together with the Regions and Market Communications.
  • Manage and develop the team of business development, sales, technical and applications development professionals.

 

The salary scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and primary work location. Salary $175,000-$225,000

You bring

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in business management, commercial or M&A experience, in both the Advanced Drug Delivery AND Medical Device biomaterial markets required; work experience outside the US necessary
  • Excellent grasp of commercial deal making, in/out-licensing, M&A with commercial know-how and business and financial acumen
  • Strong and demonstrated understanding of a business processes coupled with vast experience and knowledge of accounting, capital management, actuarial, legal, and M&A transactions.
  • Proven leader directly managing others with an ability to lead a cross-functional team through the entire life cycle of a product development from early-stage applications to commercialization. 
  • Strong knowledge of medical device/biomaterials/CMO industries, markets, customers, products and competing companies
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other related field relevant to DSM Biomedical a plus
