The Challenge

Produces quality ingredients and finished products to a pre-determined operations plan under general supervision. Usually acts as a member of a team. Performs assigned duties and operates process equipment in accordance with Key Performance Measures, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) regulations. Maintains end-to-end process comprehension and coordination. Conducts activities such as sampling, testing, material handling, record documentation, cleaning and maintenance of equipment, general housekeeping, etc. Cross trains in multiple chemical processes.



The Position

  • Handle raw materials, transport from storage to dispenser room, weigh them as required per the batch formula and add them to required mixer.
  • Production Operator employees will required to load blenders, complete final packaging, and sample per batch requirement, inspect both raw materials and finished goods as well as safely palletize and store raw materials and/or finished goods.
  • Able to work unsupervised in all in areas of the production process.  In addition, as the Production Operator, one must demonstrate advanced process knowledge.
  • Monitor, report and document equipment failures; record exception, deviations and actions taken.
  • Report disturbances to the Supervisor or backup supervisor and inform him/her about production process adjustments/concerns.
  • Take samples of raw materials and finished goods for quality and analytical testing.
  • Perform assembly work on equipment when necessary to ensure continuous efficient operation of process.
  • Ensure good housekeeping within area of responsibility, in compliance with guidelines, orders and instructions. Allergen storage, cGMPs, 5S and other programs/requirements fall into housekeeping requirements and must be followed.
  • Alert offenders of nonconformities. Notify supervision if and when standards are not complied with.
  • Support in investigating asset utilization issues.
  • Communicate relevant details with all team members, including leaving and incoming shift colleagues.
  • Responsible for tracking, monitoring, and reporting equipment performance. 
  • Responsible for reporting and the escalation of SHE incidents and participating in root cause analysis teams. 
  • Ability to work in confined spaces intermittently (non-permit required).
  • Ability to work at height (approximately 14 feet).
  • Ensures cGMP Compliances. Practices 5S guidelines as outlined in SOP’s.
  • Participates in the training and coaching  of team members.
  • Serves as back-ups to the senior production operators.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Business needs may dictate working different shifts and overtime, as needed.  Must be flexible. 




The Ideal

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical or manufacturing experience required
  • Intermediate math skills preferred
  • At least 2-5 years’ experience.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of duties in the assigned work area. 
  • Legible penmanship and meticulous recordkeeping skills and understanding of materials.
  • Knowledge and skills to operate a personal computer and computer driven controls systems.
