La Plaine site is a Center of Expertise for Synthetics F&F Ingredients, mastering complex & multistep processes with long production lead times. The site delivers key ingredients for Perfumery creation with highly skilled employees with specific focus on Process Safety and on health & safety.

La Plaine site is also launching new products, new processes & new technologies.

SHE&S senior expert is reporting to the senior HSE manager of dsm-firmenich La Plaine.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring SHE related compliance with current legislation and dsm-firmenich group SHE requirements, relating to relevant occupational safety policies, procedure, standards & training and update SHE procedures as necessary.
Prepare & deliver SHE&S training for employee and contractor (Safety induction for new commers, HSE basic training for operator, work permits, safety culture, e-learning.).
Carry out HSE risk assessments (ERPT, chemical risk assessment...), monitor chemical & noise exposure of our personal, manage asbestos risk.
Conduct HSE tour on site to check HSE standard & safety equipment compliance (PPE, SOP, work permit...).
Providing practical advice & support on Health & Safety issues, feeding back when required standards are not being met and making recommendations for corrective action as appropriate.
Leading and investigating safety incidents and injuries on site to ensure compliance with site and dsm-firmenich standards and close out of actions.
Maintain our ISO certifications 14001 and 45001 as well as any new required relevant certifications.
Manage and coordinate internal audit program according ISO requirement including training & coaching of internal auditor, coordinate and prepare external audit (ISO, Customer audit), prepare & participate to corporate audit.
Provide regular HSE communication, SHE flyer, participate to safety talk.
Supporting the development and implementation of SHE’s KPI and monitoring programs for continuous improvement (plan de progress).
Interface with Regional SHE regularly to ensure application of dsm-firmenich standards and for roll out of initiatives within La Plaine (lifesaving rules, PPE standards…).
Provide HSE support to any project onsite, management of change and conduct RAMS
Key contact for Health & safety authorities (SUVA, OCERT…).

You Bring:

Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management Degree and expertise with professional qualification (SUVA, NEBOSH or equivalent) - Safety Engineer (Swiss qualification) is preferred.
5 - 10 years’ HS&E/OH&S of experience working in Flavors & Fragrances, Pharma, Chemical or Food Industry.
Proven track record in successfully influencing SHE culture.
Having competencies for SHE risks assessment, incident investigation.
Strong support on site to operation managers, leaders, technical department.
Strong communicator with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a cross-functional team.
Knowledge and well-versed in ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
Other essential behaviors are self-motivation, team player and auditing skills.

Data Driven with strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability.

Fluent in French and level B2 in English.
