The Research & Development (R&D) Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the Director of Global R&D in the development and execution of product innovation. This position requires an individual with a passion for women’s health and an innovative mindset, as well as the ability to monitor the scientific and ingredient landscape for insights to drive meaningful product development.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature reviews to identify new trends and opportunities in the industry.
  • Scout for new ingredients and technologies that could be used in future products.
  • Build partnerships with external organizations to collaborate on research and development projects.
  • Monitor, organize, interpret and document scientific information and data to support product and claims development for existing and future products for women’s health.
  • Explore and provide technical assessment on innovative technologies related to dosage delivery formats and technologies beyond the company’s current competencies.
  • Support product formulation, initial feasibility, and proof of principle activities as well as scale up plans related to new product development.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Project management- Monitor project progress and identify and address any issues or risks that arise.

You bring:

  • Master's/PhD or ND degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., biology, chemistry, biochemistry, nutrition, naturopathic medicine, or related field)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in R&D or scientific affairs in the consumer health or dietary supplement industry
  • Strong knowledge of women's health, microbiome, probiotic and dietary supplement categories
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
