Purchasing Operations Analyst

 Schenectady, NY 

HybridMonday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM

Annual Salary Range  $70,000 - $87,400

 

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range DSM expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. This position is also eligible for bonuses and benefits, which are not included in the pay scale provided.

As a Purchasing Operations Analyst, you will own supplier delivery performance and raw material availability.  Manage all open requisitions, purchase orders and supplier capacities to ensure on time delivery.  This position plays key role in working capital reduction, lead time reduction and increasing customer OTIF (On Time in Full) performance. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and monitor supplier delivery and lead time performance.
  • Work with suppliers & Procurement team to conduct root cause analysis. and corrective actions for inconsistent performance. 
  • Review and convert purchase requisitions to purchase orders. 
  • Maintain purchase order conditions and review and Resolve PO invoice discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with suppliers on late orders.
  • Prepare reports on purchasing activity, supplier performance & supplier evaluations. Also, develop metrics to track PO confirmations and ensure 100% of open orders with supplier confirmation.

This position embraces a Hybrid Working model, offering the flexibility of both office and remote work. Initially you'll be on-site for 5 days a week, transitioning gradually to 1-2 days in your home office once you’re fully acclimated.

 

You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 5 years in purchasing, buying, and/or planning preferred
  • Demonstrated statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills using various software and tools.
  • Familiarity with a variety of Supply Chain Management concepts and procedures e.g., MRP, Inventory Coverage, Operating Working Capital, Demand Planning, OTIF (On Time in Full).
  • Solid quantitative computer skills including MS suite and SAP
  • APICS certification a plus.
