As an Improve Plant Process Engineer you will identify and report daily the causes of non-performance in terms of productivity, efficiency and quality. The Process Engineer carries out weekly and monthly analyses of the performance of the production sectors under its responsibility and identifies the causes of recurring and non-recurring performance. The Process Engineer is part of the Improve Plant department, working to deliver improvements to the facilities and reporting to the Engineering Manager.  

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report daily non-performance issues related to productivity, efficiency, and quality under supervision.
  • Responsible for supporting and improving the production of frozen cultures and enzymes at the two production sites.
  • Analyze weekly/monthly performance data and identify root causes.
  • Drive lean initiatives and engage in basic Impact activities and performance diagnostics.
  • Execute basic compliance tasks with food safety programs.
  • Update production data in SAP (GT & WK) with guidance.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to implement process improvements. Implement small process improvements independently.
  • Document SOPs and develop process protocols.
  • Actively participate and lead RCA sessions and non-conformity investigations.
  • Practice and apply coaching on process troubleshooting techniques.
  • Lead RTO activities on smaller projects independently or on larger projects with coaching.
  • Own Asset Utilization tracking for designated section of the process
  • Earn Six Sigma Green Belt and contribute to Kaizen events.
  • Manage small measure sheets or support large measure sheets.

You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Microbiology or related field (i.e biochemical engineering, mechanical engineering or applicable engineering studies, biology, biochemistry, food microbiology)
  • 3 years of work experience in manufacturing, industrial microbe manufacturing and processing, and/or microbial fermentation  
  • 3 years of experience working in root cause analysis, problem solving.
