Within DSM Human Nutrition & Health, we are currently looking for a Senior Supply Chain Manager

 

The Challenge

In this role, you will lead a team of supply chain employees. The position is located in Parsippany, NJ.  Together with this team you will run and improve the supply chain planning (Sales and Operations Planning, Master Production Scheduling, Detailed Scheduling, Material and Capacity Requirements Planning) and warehouse / logistics activities for the products in the NA region. The Supply Chain Manager reports directly into the Regional Director of Operations. 

 

This role is a key position in the DSM HNH (human nutrition & health) business as you need to connect many dots in the organization to maintain a smooth order to delivery process for our customers and secure high performance on on-time, in-full deliveries. With the strong growth strategy of HNH, you need to maintain a culture and work processes that are flexible and give the capability to swiftly and reliably scale up from innovation to commercial scale. The challenge is to create a robust and reliable supply chain, while making changes and implementing ad hoc solutions for issues while maintaining compliance to the required and applicable busin

ss processes.

 

Furthermore, the planning processes still require significant improvements in all areas, leading to manufacturing lead time reduction and improved Operating Working Capital and Costs of Goods Sold. This will require alignment with many stakeholders to create the broad support needed.

 

The Position

  • Define and implement the Supply Chain Management (SCM) annual plans and initiatives as aligned with Business Operations Strategy;
  • Manage the team and supporting personnel development;
  • Implement reliable and robust SCM planning processes, from the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process (with the Commercial Business team) to the Master Production Schedule, Detailed Schedule, and Material Requirements Planning that are well connected to the other disciplines (e.g. Quality Control, Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing)
  • Adequately balance costs, working capital, and service levels in the supply chain while complying with the agreed quality and SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) requirements and in line with the company’s capabilities and needs
  • Supervise a smooth and flexible order and delivery process with a reliable Goods flow, that matches the desired service level of our internal and external customers
  • Ensure a that the inventory is correctly managed and kept up-to-date (both administratively and physically) in the Inventory Management process
  • Manage and execute SCM related projects and improvement activities for HNH (Human Nutrition & Health) NA sites and its products
  • Act as team lead to represent SCM in innovation and business projects.

 

The Ideal

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management/Planning or related field.
  • Experience working within supply chain in a batch manufacturing environment required.
  • 5+ years of people management experience; 7+ years of supply chain experience in a relevant industr.
  • APICS certifications is preferred
  • Extensive experience in Demand and Supply Chain Management in various business environments (including a Make to Order manufacturing strategy) and on managerial level, ideally also in a highly regulated market (e.g. pharma, food and Beverage)
  • Solid hands on knowledge of Supply Chain Management/Planning and Manufacturing concepts and processes
  • Ability to manage small scale and non-standard operations with involvement of many stakeholders and partners in the value chain
  • Project management skills along with proficient data analysis and advanced excel user knowledge is required
  • Solid leadership skills and familiar with people and change management
  • Working knowledge of SAP is required
