The Challenge:

The Procurement Manager will support the regional procurement director in the transformation of procurement in North America. You will lead sustainability, category management and strategy implementation, risk management, and other regional initiatives across DSM Nutritional Products NA by promoting best practices, bringing new ways of working, and using new digital tools.

 

The Position:

  • Contribute actively to the Procurement Strategy by developing and implementing global/regional saving opportunities in line with business needs.
  • Develop and manage the relationship with strategic suppliers and track their performance.
  • Support the regional team by implementing best practices and new processes and be accountable for cross-functional team management.
  • Monitor the strategy implementation of the assigned lead categories/companies.
  • Oversee the development of projects and execution of strategies through the strategic sourcing methodology and the process to select key suppliers for the specific spending area.
  • Measure and track the internal performance of assigned lead purchasing products/companies.
  • Ensure the use of strategic sourcing processes, best practices, and creative thinking.
  • Develop and implement new processes in accordance with the defined business processes and authorization rules in order to secure target achievement.
  • Displays and promotes positive safety behaviors at all times; use proper personal protective equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment, and procedures that ensure that self and others go home safe each day.

 

The Ideal:

  • Minimum of 7 years of Procurement and/or extensive Category experience.
  • Bachelor's in business administration, engineering, or other relevant disciplines. MBA preferred
  • 7+ year track record within procurement and supply chain management or similar certification desirable.
  • Ability to develop actionable implementation plans.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification desirable.
  • Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills.
  • Strong influence and negotiating skills.
