The Challenge:

The Category Manager manages the Procurement Strategy Development and Implementation of assigned categories for the region.


The Position:

  • Sourcing strategies development through market studies (internal & external analysis) to identify best practices, identify gaps, risks, and opportunities as well as to identify new suppliers.
  • Lead supplier development activities; set up cross-functional review meetings with Suppliers in order to improve performance and further reduce cost.
  • Collaborate with Key Stakeholders on providing insights into current categories and market opportunities.
  • Conduct and drive Supplier Evaluation according to the KPIs established in Regional Process.
  • Manage relationships & partnerships with internal customers and Key Stakeholders.
  • Displays and promotes positive safety behaviors at all times; use proper personal protective equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment, and procedures that ensure that self and others go home safe each day.


The Ideal:

  • Bachelor in business administration, commerce, engineering, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar function or other functional management.
  • Manufacturing industry prior experience is required. Feed/Food additives knowledge preferred.
  • Purchasing processes (strategic and operational) in a B2B context.
  • Highly Advanced Proficiency in MS Office is required. SAP experience preferred.
