Job Title: Operator, Production and Warehouse – 2nd Shift
Location: South Bend, IN
The Operator, Production and Warehouse supports both production and warehouse operations, working under the direction of Leads and the Manager. It involves producing food ingredients by following standardized formulas and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), as well as managing raw material and finished goods in the warehouse. The position includes tasks such as weighing, measuring, mixing, packaging, unloading, loading, staging, shipping, and maintaining inventory accuracy, while completing all required documentation. The 2nd shift operating hours are Monday to Friday, 1:00PM – 9:30PM.
Your Key Responsibilities:
• Works to SHE standards and encourages fellow colleagues to work to the same standards.
• Operates process and material moving equipment in a hygienic and safe manner in accordance with all process procedures, cGMP, HAACP and SHE instructions and guidelines. Acts in such a way that safety awareness and accident prevention are considered in the performance of all tasks.
• Sets up, calibrates, and monitors instruments, i.e., pH meter and metal detection devices.
• Load and unload trucks and trailers in compliance with warehouse safety practices.
• Inspects vehicles to ensure they meet dsm-firmenich standards.
• Identifies, troubleshoots, and responds to deviations in process, product, equipment, and performance variations.
• Understands and executes operations in blending, pH adjustment, filtration, packaging and process sequences while documenting steps and other records.
• Identifies and takes appropriate action for variations in raw materials, foreign debris, color changes, smell, moisture, and temperature variations.
• Performs raw and finished material cycle counts to support accurate inventory.
• Flexible working within shift to support either production or warehouse operations as needed.
• Performs minor maintenance work on equipment when necessary to ensure continuous operation of process.

You Bring:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• At least one year forklift experience required
• At least one year production or food service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. as needed throughout the shift.
• Basic computer skills.
The hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. The hourly wage is $20.00.
