As an Operational Technology and Allocation Specialist you will perform activities related to operations technology (OT), servers, and systems to ensure that production operations and equipment remain in proper working condition. The role must follow established procedures, work instructions, Life Saving Rules, SHE requirements, and Quality standards.
In addition, this position will support the Production department, acting as backup to the Lead Planner and Planner when needed. This is within our manufacturing sites within Human Nutrition & Health (HNH) for our Human Nutrition Premix organization. This is where we produce liquids and dry blends for our dietary supplements and food.
This OT position plays a key role in connecting the factory’s physical environment with the corporate IT network, enabling secure, reliable, and efficient data flow that supports the site’s digital transformation. The role ensures the integration between automation, engineering, and IT systems while remaining aligned with corporate cybersecurity policies and standards.
By maintaining strong interfaces across these functions, the position strengthens the stability and resilience of production systems and contributes to business continuity, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Back up of the Lead Planner and Production Planner by managing and distributing the weekly production schedule.
- Review of plant raw material availability. Communicates with multiple departments as needed related to approvals to produce premixes in a timely manner to allow for testing the shipment to customer to meet customer delivery dates. Place stock transfer requisitions as needed and will work with the Supply Chain department as needed.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by soft allocating materials to production orders using FEFO method.
- Serve as Local Contact Person for ICT, which includes:

- Acting as the primary contact person for networking and servers (e.g., rebooting of network devices, power cycling servers, equipment racks, et al; checking LED status and alarm indictors on devices)
- Understanding actions specified and directed by the Service Desk and/or from the ICT Coordinator
- Responsibility for Spares Inventory Management of standard devices located on site
- In close cooperation and guided with/by the Local Business/Service Desk/Orange/ICT Coordinator/local supplier, undertaking the support of LAN Patching, Audio/Visual Support, Telephony Support, Security Systems, and Conference Rooms.

- Responsible for the CSOT Program - Cyber Security in Operations Technology Program implementation and maintenance as a CSOT green belt role:

- Monitor and maintain OT infrastructure (industrial PCs, switches, edge devices).
- Troubleshoot issues in connectivity and data flow between factory assets and corporate systems (computer hardware, printers, software, and network systems).
- Oversee upgrades, troubleshooting, systems backups, and disaster recovery.
- Support industrial network protocols and maintain technical documentation.
- Manage local datacenter ensuring availability and security.
- Participate in OT- related integration, improvement, and innovation projects.
- Support OT/MES and CAPEX projects ensuring process continuity.
- Leading BIAs- Business Impact Assessment of digital solutions and systems.

- Act as focal point for MES system management and supplier interface.

You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering or related field plus 3-4 years’ of experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial environments or IT/OT integration.
- Manufacturing background preferred.
- MES, BMS, PMS, Badge, camera system, or Access Control System a plus.
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls).
- Understanding of OT cybersecurity principles.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must continuously equip oneself with knowledge of the latest digital trends in the market and have familiarity with IT and related technical concepts to act as a bridge or translator between IT specialists and other stakeholders.
- Must have sufficient understanding of Operations, Quality, Engineering, and the integration of digital tools across those functions.
- Requires good interpersonal skills to interact and communicate effectively with stakeholders at many different hierarchical levels.
- Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to adjust workload to meet varying schedules.
- Must have good oral / written communication, presentation, troubleshooting, and time management skills.
The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $80,000 - $95,000
