As part of the  Taste, Texture & Health – Ingredient Solutions (TTH-ISOL) organization, this is critical position in Global Finance team for Operations TTH. 
The successful candidate will support Operations (Manufacturing & Technology, DSCM and Purchasing, CAPEX and Working Capital) to ensure that financial targets of BU are met. The Controller will have a business partnering role and leads reporting and analysis activities. In this role you will also be part of the Pectin Finance team and have a strong link to the Pectin business globally, and to be a member of management team of Yantai production site.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of Finance into dsm-firmenich standards, processes, team and systems
  • Support defining/implementing the site strategy, and manage performance the operations/site organization in scope.
  • Responsible for all accounting related matters of the site including supervising and steering the finance team (7 FTE)
  • Support business/operations management in relevant projects (eg BOS, M&A, large capex projects, contracts, optimization projects, reorganizations)
    • Monitor and interpret the consolidated CAPEX and OPEX budgeting & forecasting and provide explanation to management 
    • Review business cases and provide support to the improvement transformation (IMPACT)
    • Pushing for finance-based business steering and “EUR-thinking “on the site. 
    • Capital expenditure planning and reporting, support analysis capital proposal and preparation of business cases. 
  • Finalize product costing/ raw material / cycle design & output consumption
    • Enhance cost awareness on the site.
    • Inventory (Raw material, scrap, rework & provision).
  • Operate within the regional operations control team and work on optimizing and harmonizing financial processes & reporting and implementing best practices across company. Focal point for all ad-hoc control items, like subsidies, government and linking pin with Shanghai FC&A

You Bring:

•    ~10 years’ experience in Finance & Control in an international environment. Full finance scope experience is required, i.e. accounting, tax, treasury, FP&A, etc. Prior experience in Operations Controlling role. Experience of work in JV is a plus
•    Good understanding of accounting principles (IFRS preferred); Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) and other IT tools is a must. 
•    High level of conceptual and analytical skills; Identifies opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve internal processes. Able to cope with strict deadlines and time schedules within a matrix reporting relationship.
•    Strong interpersonal communications, influencing skills and stakeholder management; can express her/his ideas with ease and flair;
•    Drive for results, pro-active attitude with “can-do” mentality. Makes good judgments about when to give in and when to stand firm, can absorb shocks and bounces back. Takes a learning stance in every situation;
•    Fluent in English and Mandarin
