Maintenance Coordinator

Schenectady, NY

Monday – Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Hourly Range – $31.00 - $39.50/hour

 

As a Maintenance Coordinator at dsm-firmenich, you will oversee and coordinate all repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, scheduling external contractors, creating work permits, and tracking work orders, along with other tasks that ensure smooth and efficient facility operation. This is for our Human Nutrition and Health (HNC)  Premix division where we produce liquids and dry blends for our dietary supplements and food.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Follows site behavioral programs including performance expectations for training completion, SHE, Quality activities execution, use of PPE, following procedures, etc. and other tasks assigned by management.
  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians and third-party contractors across multiple shifts and projects, ensuring timely execution and accurate documentation throughout the process.
  • Prioritize and schedule work while considering level of urgency and equipment criticality.
  • Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and optimize efficiency.
  • Support the development, creation and review of safe work permits and job safety analysis for all maintenance activities.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and necessary supplies to support maintenance operations.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and Production team on status of repairs, preventative maintenance, and contractor work.

 

 

Must be able to work weekends, overtime, and holidays as maintenance demand requires including call-ins  (As needed) Annual shutdown beginning of July

You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Management or a relate field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3  years’ in maintenance coordination, industrial project management, or relevant field. Education may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Previous leadership experience in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience as a maintenance supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Requires an advanced level of computer literacy and data entry skill with spreadsheet programs and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint) and CMMS software.
  • Requires ability to bridge technological know-how with “real world” operation to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
  • Must develop/maintain a strong working relationship with staff in Production and Maintenance wherein most improvements are implemented, and outcomes reside.
  • Experience with planning and scheduling of work tasks.

 

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Hourly $31 - $39.50.
