Lead Specialist Formulations (Early Life Nutrition and Medical Nutrition) HNC EMEA

As a formulator, you play a pivotal role in driving growth and innovation within the EMEA premix business forEarly life nutrition and Medical nutrition. You are responsible for delivering technically robust and commercially impactful solutions by leading the development and optimization of premix formulations aligned with strategic segment priorities. Your role bridges formulation science, customer collaboration, and business strategy, ensuring that customer briefs are effectively translated into valuable, tailored solutions. You provide technical expertise and formulation support in close collaboration with various internal and external partners. 

Please note, that it is 12 months' maternity leave cover. 

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Formulation Execution: Create and perform well-defined formulation tasks within established SOPs and support day-to-day formulation activities. Reviewing and signing off customer specifications based on customer set-up - in collaboration with Compliance and QA team.
  • Scope & Risk Management: Work on a narrow product/ingredient scope and escalate non-standard risks or trade-offs.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Maintain close interaction with internal stakeholders (Segment Leads, Sales, Quality, Procurement, Regulatory, and Operations) and external partners.
  • Innovation & Support: Collaborate to develop new project concepts and provide technical support, primarily for smaller accounts.
  • Knowledge & Awareness: Stay aligned with dsm-firmenich’s innovation agenda, health benefit platforms, ingredient strategies, and HNC segment priorities.
  • Representation & Outreach: Deliver presentations on formulation and application topics across the region.

You bring

  • Bachelors or Masters degree or higher in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, Engineering, or related scientific/technical field. 
  • Experience with product solutions preferable associated with Early Life Nutrition and Medical Nutrition customer base.
  • IF/FO, FSMP regulations background and/or experience 
  • Experience with SAP systems.
  • Solid understanding of development, and product commercialization within health, nutrition, or food industries.
  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts into scalable, customer-ready solutions.
