The Lead Specialist, SHE supports the Exton Biomedical sites in developing, implementing, and sustaining Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) programs and site plans aligned with company requirements and applicable regulations. This role partners with cross-functional teams (Production, Maintenance, DO&RC, and the NA SHE Network) to deliver training, conduct risk assessments, support environmental compliance, environmental aspects and impacts, and sustainability efforts for the Exton sites (Pennsylvania Drive, Sierra Dr., and Devon Park Dr.), support management of change, lead/participate in incident investigations, and strengthen emergency response readiness. The role also supports site security responsibilities as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, organize, and conduct SHE-related training programs, including, work permit, incident investigation, root cause, LOTO, etc.
- Conduct risk assessments as required on various process equipment and tasks to quantify risk and recommend risk reduction measures to intended audience (i.e. production, maintenance, etc).
- Support environmental compliance by managing waste disposal process, air emissions inventory, and dsm-firmenich Triple P reporting.
- Assists in maintaining the Management of Change process, including review of changes for SHE implications.
- Develop and support occupational health processes including performing Health Risk Assessments, IH planning and monitoring and development of related programs such as Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection and Ergonomics.
- Supports site in the preparation and execution of SHE Plan.
- Participates and actively engages in wide-ranging scope of SHE issues.
- Supports Emergency Response Plan with participation and assistance with training activities. Develops and conducts drills and resolves identified gaps.
- Audits for compliance with SHE requirements and progress of implementation of SHE Plan.
- Ensures all SHE related training is current and up to date.
- Actively participates and leads site safety committee, first aid team and emergency response team meetings. Plans and organizes team training, emergency response planning scenarios, evacuation drills, etc. Maintains inventory of spill response materials.

You Bring:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or SHE discipline required or within 1 year of hire.
- Minimum of 3 years in various SHE-related functions.
- Minimum of 2 years manufacturing related SHE responsibilities.
- High level of conceptual and analytical thinking and ability.
- Good knowledge of universally accepted SHE practices.
- Cursory knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, European Union (EU) regulations, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations is desired.
- Good knowledge of US OSHA regulations as they relate to general industry.
- Good communication, social and advisory skills required.
- Must have advanced computing skills in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
