Location – Geneva, Switzerland
Join dsm-firmenich as Lead Expert Customs & Trade Compliance ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations across the EMEA region. This role acts as the regional point of contact for customs and trade matters, aligning strategies with the Global Customs & Trade Compliance team and supporting optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure alignment and implement customs compliance strategies within the region.
- Support/teach EMEA Logistic teams on Customs & Trade Compliance queries.
- Ensure adherence to trade regulations, import/export requirements, and government rulings.
- Drive adoption and promote best practices related to customs and trade compliance within EMEA.
- Identify and implement initiatives that optimize customs processes, including FTA utilization and other cost-saving programs.
- Compliance of trade restrictions, export authorizations, licenses, and government rulings.
- Provide expert support in customs/authority audits and inquiries.
- Identify and inform the regional import/export requirements.
- Cross Business Unit process alignment.

You Bring:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing import/export compliance in a multinational environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, International Trade, or related field required.
- In-depth understanding of international customs laws, tariffs, trade agreements, and regulations.
- Ability to identify compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Strong analytical skills to identify optimization opportunities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Harmonized Tariff Schedule and classification of products.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and border compliance (for chemical products).
- Experience in SAP (GTS) is desirable, and Microsoft Office required.
- Fluent in English and French, German will be an asset.
- Continuous Improvement mindset.
