Laboratory Technician – Permanent
Location: Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire
Reporting to: Laboratory Manager & Senior Flavour Technologist
Department: Taste, Texture & Health
Join our Taste, Texture & Health team as a Laboratory Technician, supporting flavour innovation through compounding, testing, and laboratory management. This role offers hands‑on experience in flavour creation, exposure to international projects, and the chance to grow your expertise in a science‑led, creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as dedicated compounder for the site Flavourist
- Prepare flavour samples for evaluation, development, and client submissions
- Conduct laboratory tests (Brix, pH, density, flashpoint) using standard equipment
- Manage stock of raw materials, flavours library, and packaging supplies
- Ensure laboratory cleanliness, safety, and proper waste disposal
- Support administrative tasks including orders, dispatch, and record keeping

You Bring

Science‑based A level or HND in Food Science/Technology (or equivalent)

2–3 years’ experience in a laboratory environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Passion for food preparation and tasting
- Understanding of good laboratory practices and HSE compliance
- Curiosity to learn about raw materials, flavour compliance, and commercial needs
