Job Title: Laboratory Technician, P&B

We're looking for a Laboratory Technician P&B (Perfumery & Beauty) who will supervise the laboratory activity, application and compounding for Torre Realia P&B lab and maintaining a close rapport with the local team to service clients with timely sampling, identify, solve and prevent problems affecting the lab service. This is a key position within the Quality Team providing expertise and support to the local P&B department fostering a cross departmental quality and compliance mind-set. 

Your key responsibilities

Establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by being aware of and implementing appropriate lab practices that comply with all company policies, local, regulations.
Maintain an organized laboratory supplies inventory to determine inventory levels and anticipating future supply needs. Place appropriate purchase requests within the designated budget and follow proper good receipt policies. 
Coordinate and schedule all activities associated with the laboratory. Track and report metrics as they apply to the specific processes, and act when unfavorable trends or other issues arise. Support the non-conformance reporting procedures within the QC/QA staff, including submitting waiver approvals
Maintain laboratory equipment in an operationally ready state, including overseeing instrument installation, qualification, and repair. This includes tracking annual preventative maintenance and overseeing the daily and weekly equipment checks completed by lab technicians. Complete field diagnostics and repairs as needed.
Oversee equipment and lab cleanliness and upkeep, recycling/donating outdated equipment as needed. Advance the technical capabilities of the laboratory by evaluating, recommending and implementing new technologies to meet business needs.
Possess strong knowledge of the principles and laboratory applications of chemistry and maintain an understanding of technological principles and applications of the organization’s process, products and services,
Support the P&B Team , participate at team meetings product and process development projects to achieve target objectives. Oversee regulatory testing needs as appropriate.

You bring

BS degree in Chemistry preferably.
2 to 5 years of general lab experience.
Proven supervisory experience required.
Knowledge in the areas of Perfumery preferred.
Good product knowledge of widely used Perfumery Raw Materials.
Direct experience scaling formulations , in application and compounding.
Familiarity or experiences with candle station.
Demonstrated ability to work and contribute in team environment.
Effective written and oral English communication.
Knowledge of designed experimentation and statistical data analysis.
Ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced environment and set priorities.
Thorough understanding of analytical chemistry and chemical instrumentation.
Requires knowledge in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel and Outlook.
Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with various departments.
Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
