Lab Technician II

Location: Freeport, TX (US)

Onsite

 

As a Lab Technician II, you’ll be responsible for inspection, testing and reporting of raw materials, intermediates, wastewater, and finished products applying validated or compendia methods in a quality control laboratory.  Operates in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), sanitation/safety/regulatory requirements and divisional goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs in-process and final testing of intermediates and final products that meet GMP and USP/EDQM standards. 
  • Performs testing on waste water samples to assist in plant control in compliance with TCEQ and EPA.
  • Tracks and stores retain and stability samples.
  • Analyzes raw materials, intermediates and finished products for required tests by various wet chemical and instrumental methods, including titration, UV, spectrophotometer, and automated chromatographic systems.
  • Executes the procedures for Control Standards.
  • Performs calculations, collects and prepares data for evaluation.
  • Additional accountability and responsibilities provided by leadership.

 You bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field required or Associate’s degree with 2- 3 years of experience in Chemistry or in a related field required or in lieu of formal education, significant experience in applied discipline may be considered.
  • Must have a strong understanding of Chemistry concepts.
  • Knowledge in Mathematics, balancing equations, making dilutions, SQC etc.
  • Knowledge of personal computers; Excel, Word, LIMS.
  • Broad knowledge of different analytical techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Instrumental Analysis.
