Senior Process Safety Engineer/Kingstree, SC

 

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that employees are involved in the maintenance and implementation of the PSM Program.
  • Verifying that Process Safety Information (PSI) is complete and current.
  • Coordinating all Chemical Hazard Analysis (CHA) efforts.
  • Ensuring operating procedures are in place and PSM-compliant.
  • Reviewing contractor safety programs and safety performance.
  • Coordinating activities for all Management of Change (MOC) reviews involving process safety.
  • Participating in all Process Safety Incident Investigations (RCA) and track recommendations emerging from the investigation.
  • Scheduling compliance audits, selects team members, and identify audit team leader.
  • Updating and reports out monthly HAZOP and Safety MDFs (Management Decision Forms).
  • Leading Explosion Risk Assessments (ERA) when needed.
  • Participating in Site Audits and PSM reviews.
  • Providing direct technical support to assigned processing areas
  • Leading, analyzing, and reporting on process related investigations of deviations, customer complaints and/or other areas of concern to provide effective corrective solutions
  • Managing implementation of change control in a highly regulated environment to ensure any changes to the process are reviewed and approved to meet safety, quality, and process integrity requirements
  • Supporting the successful integration and scale-up of new or revised processes into the production environment
  • Collaborating with project engineering on expansion, capital, and improvement projects as needed
  • Ensuring processes and employees are compliant with DSM safety, environmental, and health standards at all times
  • Providing training and technical coaching to new colleagues and operations staff within area of process expertise
  • Designing proper process protocols and documenting SOPs for implementation of new processes and/or improvements

You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, or related field or Extensive PSM Experience and certifications
  • 6+ years of process operations experience
  • Familiarity with downstream process equipment.
  • PSM Experience 
  • Experience in Leading HAZOPs 
  • Experience in Performing Process Hazard or Chemical Hazard Analysis
  • Technical knowledge to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Must have excellent math, oral / written communication, interpersonal, trouble shooting, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of personal / process control computers, cGMP regulations and other relevant regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of experimental design and statistics
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology preferred
