R&D Data Management Delivery Expert
Job Title: R&D Data Management Delivery Expert.

Join our FAIR Data Management team to strategically lead the delivery of R&D data engineering and modeling projects that power FAIR, interoperable science. Build and scale pipelines, models, and catalogs on our modern data platform. Partner with scientists to turn complex requirements into reusable data products.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of data engineering and modeling projects (pipelines, models, catalogs).
- Enable and oversee squads to build and scale reliable pipelines and reusable data products, ensuring performance and quality.
- Define and enforce modeling standards and metadata/lineage practices aligned with FAIR.
- Partner with (data)scientists and IT, translating complex needs into practical, scalable data solutions.
- Shape and govern scalable data architectures, guide adoption of modern approaches (e.g., Data Mesh), and ensure robust governance across scientific and research data domains.
- Coach engineers/modelers and drive best practices, documentation, and continuous improvement.

You bring
- 3+ years’ experience delivering R&D data engineering and modelling initiatives in a scientific environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Information Management, or a related field.
- Deep expertise in data architecture, data governance, and FAIR principles, with the ability to drive technical execution and foster collaboration across R&D and technology teams.
- Knowledge of modern data platforms and tooling such as cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure), Databricks (PySpark/Spark SQL), Unity Catalog, dbt, Informatica, Git/Azure DevOps, and CI/CD.
- Strong data modeling and metadata skills—including Data Vault 2.0, lineage, and data quality frameworks.
- Stakeholder leadership and communication, coupled with Agile/Lean ways of working and a curious, growth mindset that seeks better, smarter, more sustainable data‑driven decisions.
