PostDoc Analytical Sciences

Position: PostDoc Analytical Sciences (18 months Contract)

Location: Kaiseraugst, Switzerland

 

We are looking for a highly driven and motivated PostDoc Analytical Sciences “Future of Quantification”.

As the successful candidate, you will join the Science & Research community, in the Analytical Sciences Switzerland department in Kaiseraugst as post-doctoral researcher and contribute to the development of our applied scientific capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Enhance laboratory throughput by innovative methods: Significantly boost the laboratories’ throughput and sustainability footprint by developing innovative approaches and methods for the characterization and quantification of small organic compounds in new and existing products. Products may include formulated actives, premixes, supplements, food or beauty and care applications from our business units.
  • Develop fast assays: Explore and evaluate new analytical concepts for fast (point-of-need) assays for key ingredients to support our business growth.
  • Strategic experimentation: Plan, prioritize, and execute experiments creating insights to build robust knowledge and to address future business questions, in alignment with your line manager.
  • Collaborate on innovation projects: Participate in cross-functional and cross-site multidisciplinary innovation projects.
  • External expertise: Propose and establish relationships with external experts

You Bring:

  • PhD in analytical chemistry or relevant related field, with broad analytical expertise, interest in exploring new scientific opportunities and conducting hands-on research.
  • Strong background in LC-(HR)-MS; expertise of GC-MS, CE, ELISA, electrochemistry or optical spectroscopy would be an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of different software and data processing technologies, experience in AI, data modelling and lab automation would be a plus.
  • Creativity and open-mindedness to solve complex analytical problems, working in close collaboration with experts from other domains (e.g., Formulation and Chemistry).
  • Excellent team spirit and communication skills, organization and networking capacity.
  • Fluent in English, good knowledge of German or wish to learn is considered a plus.
