Global MRS (Market Ready Solution) Manager

Kaiseraugst-Switzerland, Poznan-Poland, Delft-Netherlands, or other European work locations with proximity to dsm-firmenich sites can be assessed.

 

The Centralized 3rd Party Manufacturing (C3PM) Team is responsible for the operational management of dsm-firmenich product portfolio consisting of Strategically Sourced Products (SSP), contract-manufactured, toll-manufactured products and global Market Ready Solutions (MRS) produced at 3PMs.

 

The Business Unt Health Nutrition and Care (HNC) is developing innovative and differentiated MRS, consisting of a finished products leveraging distinctive formats, packaging and/or ingredients to address or anticipate emerging consumer and customer trends in dietary supplements (e.g., health benefits, consumer experiences).

 

The Global MRS manager is responsible to set-up the end-to end enterprise model for any new preferred partners and/or new differentiated MRS product, according to the C3PM onboarding process and in close alignment with global innovation, marketing, quality, procurement, commercial, regulatory, selling regions, supply chain….

 

As a global MRS Manager, you will be steering the operational performance of the Third-Party Manufacturer (3PM) but also being responsible for the overall performance of the global MRS enterprise model(s). You will translate the regional demand input into a global supply plan and align with 3PM on production, supply and inventory plans. You will steer any CAPEX project realized at the 3PM on request of dsm-firmenich, making sure that it is realized on time, on budget and according to agreed scope.

 

The Global MRS Manager is fostering a HNC MRS network, organizing regular connection with regional MRS teams to exchange learnings, best practices but also to define guidelines/standards.

 

Your key responsibilities:

Global MRS Flow implementation

  • Participate in the selection of Preferred Partners according to aligned selection criteria such as required technology, capacity and flexibility to meet demand
  • Steer the purchasing team in the establishment of the manufacturing contract, as the global MRS manager will have to monitor and guarantee the Contract Manufacturers/ Tollers performance.
  • Responsible for coordination of starting up and phasing out Contract Manufacturer/ Toller or a product at Contract Manufacturer/ Toller.
  • Assure implementation of new products and processes at our Contract Manufacturers/ Tollers.
  • Define and implement a robust end-to end enterprise model, including the needed ERP/ systems to run it efficiently
  • Support Innovation team during (scale-up) trials (coordination with 3PM, availability of material, on-site supervision…)

3PM Performance

  • Assure definition, monitoring and committing to targets on OTIF, costs, yield and quality.
  • Assure the reporting and yearly evaluation of performance against these targets, analysing deviations and taking corrective and preventive measures.
  • Represents dsm-firmenich for any CAPEX project done at a 3PM on request of dsm-firmenich (to improve performance or build new capability). Responsible for the project performance, including project cost, timing, scope completion and performance. Reports the progress and eventual issues within dsm-firmenich
  • Ensure to have an efficient end-to-end process, by working in close cooperation with the regions (being their point of contact for any process related question)

MRS Strategy

  • Maintain network (and related technical knowledge) of preferred partners, in order to answer/ anticipate innovation and business needs but also to have cost competitive partners
  • Animate the HNC MRS network with regional teams (to define standards and share best practices)

You bring:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in operations, product management, contract management or a similar role in the dietary supplement, food, or allied industries.
  • Knowledge of relevant food process and technology and at least 5 years’ experience and knowledge in dietary supplement finished products, food industry and contracting
  • Influencing, negotiation/ commercial skills and ability to work (if needed lead) in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience working with diverse and cross-functional teams, internally and externally. 
  • Good communication skills, strategic thinking, ability to multi-task. Pragmatic solution seeker, hands on, make it happen mentality and sense of urgency
  • Fluency in English. Additional languages would be a plus.
