Internal Controls Specialist

Job Title: Internal Controls Specialist / Senior Specialist (ITGC & SoD)

Location: Hyderabad, India

The Internal Controls Specialist / Senior Specialist (ITGC & SoD) plays a critical role in strengthening the company’s governance by assessing, testing, and enhancing IT General Controls and Segregation of Duties across SAP and non‑SAP systems. The role ensures compliance with internal control frameworks, protects company assets, and mitigates access‑related risks while collaborating closely with IT, business process owners, and auditors.

Your key responsibilities

  • Conduct design and operational effectiveness testing in areas including access management, change management, IT operations, and logical security.
  • Prepare clear, complete documentation of test results to support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis on control gaps and support IT teams in strengthening control maturity.
  • Conduct SoD reviews for SAP (ECC, S/4HANA, Fiori) and non‑SAP applications, and maintain SoD rule sets including business roles and Fiori catalogs.
  • Review GRC/IAG access requests, evaluate risk analysis reports, and support remediation via role redesign, cleanup, or compensating controls.
  • Assist in periodic UAR cycles and monitor changes to authorization objects, roles, and Fiori libraries. Also provide input for procurement-related access risks in Ariba.

You bring

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in IT audit, internal controls, SAP security/authorization, or related areas (8+ years preferred per job band expectation)
  • Strong hands‑on experience with S/4HANA, SAP GRC, and access risk analysis tools.
  • Good understanding of SOX, COSO, COBIT; familiarity with SOC1/SOC2 reports. Knowledge of NIST and AI audit is a plus.
  • Experience working with both SAP and non‑SAP (cloud/on‑prem) applications.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem‑solving ability, communication, process‑mapping skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office; certifications like CISA or CISM preferred.
