Be part of the engineering team in one of the most important Ingredients sites in dsm-firmenich, being responsible for the instrumentation and electrical repairs and maintenance of chemical process equipment systems daily.

 

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Monitor, repair, maintain and troubleshoot all field instrumentation such as transmitters, controllers, valves, PLCs, plant safety systems, plant power systems, pH and conductivity meters, electrical equipment and control systems including plant safety systems and plant power systems.
  • Ensure that all equipment is safely released to the technicians.
  • Monitor E/I maintenance requirements and ensure all work orders are completed and closed out properly in the CMMS system.  
  • Coordinate and direct outside contractors and vendors as required.
  • Based on field experience, provide input towards improving the efficiency of the preventative maintenance program.
  • Enforce all Port Newark safety and safe work practices including permit to work and confined space entry.

You bring

  • High School Diploma or GED with at least 10 years I&E experience in chemical, food, pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Level 1, Instrumentation Certification (ISA) and familiar with DCS based control systems in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Some experience in a leadership capacity
  • Capability to develop and maintain document database.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical plant equipment and instrumentation.
  • Demonstrated specific expertise in the design of the instrument portion of P&ID’s, equipment specification and layout.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office:  MS Word, MS Excel, CMMS, DMS.

 

 

 

 

The salary provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Hourly rate: $43.08-$50.34 per hour.

 

In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits.
