IT Specialist - D&T Plant & Automation
Location: Princeton, NJ USA
Place of Work: Hybrid
The candidate will bring a motivating, energetic, and self-driving personality toward the ongoing support and transformation of the Plainsboro manufacturing facility, as well as possible remote support of some other North America sites. Effective IT Business Partnering and customer service management will be key in identifying, scoping, and planning of transformational solutions and upgrades for the site(s). The ability to manage & traverse an evolving matrixed organization will be essential.

Your key responsibilities
• Provide support for defined manufacturing solutions, ensure Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) are met, relevant site Knowledge Base articles are up to date, support of quarterly IT patching & SAP release weekends. Off-hour escalation support (when needed).
• Serve as local IT Plant contact for all regional, affiliate & domain level matters.
• Support the Digital & Technology (D&T) and IT/Operational Technology (OT) manufacturing project portfolios by shaping & capturing demands aligned with business stakeholders and priorities.
• Collaborate with other global Perfumery & Applications (P&A) team members on maturing and delivering solution standards and technical expertise across the common solutions & services at site(s).
• Ensure that the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards around definition and management of IT/OT assets are maintained and that Asset inventories are up to date for your site(s).
• Contribute to the definition and enforcement of IT/OT architectural standards (software, infrastructure) together with Engineering, IT Security & Infrastructure teams.
• Provide functional knowledge to support business objectives (technology watch, best practices) pertaining to your site(s), propose and document value-added IT solutions. Anticipate problems and develop thoughtful & creative solutions.
• Contribute and be an innovation partner to other IT and business teams with respect to Industry 4.0 and other digital initiatives.
This position is eligible for the dsm-firmenich Hybrid Working model, spending 4 days per week in the Princeton, NJ office and the balance of 1 day of the work week in a home office.

You bring
• Entry level (1-2 years preferred) in IT, with exposure to manufacturing environment preferred. Knowledge of Manufacturing Software (MES), Warehousing and Automates a plus.
• Ability to act in an independent manner and be self-directed/self-motivated in a high paced environment. Experience in IT support and light project management a plus.
• Experience with several completed IT projects requiring technical understanding, scoping and delivery of IT solutions to customers with high user satisfaction.
• Potential to grow in role and assume more complex roles as part of a career plan.
• Ability to receive sometimes limited direction or instructions surrounding Plant issues and taking initiative to dig deeper and drive toward fulfilment or resolution.
• A drive and passion to learn and work in a transforming manufacturing environment.
