The Challenge:


Key Account Manager leads all aspects of the DSM relationship with a North American Poultry customer with global reach and increases overall sales revenue and volume while building deeper relationships with all key stakeholders.


Preferred geography for this role is southeast US.


In the role of Key Account Manager, you will:


  • Interact with high levels of management within customer organization to build robust relationships across customer’s nutrition, quality, purchasing, and live production teams
  • Serve as the key representative and bridge builder of DSM resources to this key customer
  • Promote the use of DSM vitamins, blending facilities, enzymes, and other gut health products to help improve animal performance and bottom line of this key account
  • Gain access across the organization to understand customer needs and guide and direct DSM resources to bring solutions to resolve these needs
  • Collaborate with these DSM functions to successfully manage this relationship to its full potential:  Commercial Management, Operations, Technical Marketing, Global DSM Nutritional Products, Finance, Human Nutrition and Health and Animal Nutrition and Health Marketing
  • Learn about new avenues to demonstrate value.
  • Network across both organizations
  • Position DSM quality, reliability and value over that of all others in the nutrition industry


The Ideal formula for success:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or science/technology related field required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in animal nutrition sales, product management, nutrition technical services and/or live production required
  • Animal nutrition experience required; animal nutrition experience in poultry required; animal nutrition experience in swine preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the animal feed industry and integrator market required
  • Knowledge and understanding of the global market for nutritional ingredients a plus
  • Strong strategic thinking, leadership, communication and relationship skills
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage people not reporting to them
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong customer and relationship skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Business acumen
