Business Development Director North America

Is the idea of building a market for sustainably farmed seafood – raised on natural marine algae – with leading US retailers and food service partners appealing to you? As our Business Development Director you will work along the entire seafood value chain, from feed to fork, to build a sustainable future for aquaculture.  Are you up for the challenge?


Come help us create value for the end customers through sustainable, natural solutions and showcase the scientific power of Veramaris.  You’ll report directly to the Marketing and Communications Director.


You’ll be responsible to:

  • Develop new markets for Veramaris solutions
  • Create retail and food service enthusiasm for seafood raised on algae
  • Lead, develop and manage business plans to convince relevant stakeholders along the value chain (“Farm to Fork”)
  • Manage  customers, key stakeholders and their projects as well as product introductions across the value chain

What we like to see in your experience:

  • Broad view on industry, value chains and markets in seafood/aquaculture with understanding of markets, solutions and applications with experience selling and marketing seafood
  • Minimum 5 years of delivering sales results in a challenging environment
  • Ability to sell value versus commodity sell, influencing and convincing customers and stakeholders
  • Customer and results orientation and delivering against targets
  • Balance of commercial and technical know-how, skills and experience along with project management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
