We have a permanent vacancy within the SHEQ Department as a SHE Officer working dayshift in our Premix business.  This role is to lead and drive SHE behaviours in support to all functions; manufacturing, Laboratory, transport/logistics, warehousing and offices.


The SHE Officer responsibilities include:


  • To ensure that the SHE management system is in place, understood, maintained, improved and regularly evaluated.
  • Promote and support the right behavioral approach to risk awareness to create an injury-free working environment, through coaching, training, challenge and support.
  • Develop and lead a local SHE audit programme to demonstrate compliance with DSM standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Regional and Global SHE function to drive continuous  improvement in SHE.
  • Take a leading role in SHE audits from regulatory bodies, accreditation bodies and customers. 
  • To review all new/amended UK legislative documents on safety, health and environment and to implement timely measures to meet these new requirements.
  • To work closely with and respond to both the national inspectorate and local government offices charged with maintaining safety, health and environment complaints/issues.
  • Carry out incident investigations, action plan management and reporting.
  • Provide advice, practical solutions to support local line managers and the Site Leadership Team.
  • Lead, coach, train and advise on Emergency response.
  • Manage and lead SHE Toolbox meetings with the relevant manager



Successful candidates will hold a  health and safety professional qualification, ideally  minimum Grad Iosh and have several years’ relevant industrial experience.   COMAH, DSEAR, ATEX experience would be desirable.  Other essential behaviours are effective management skills, good communication skills and attention to detail.  Some travel will be required to other sites.
