As an HRBP, you will serve as a strategic partner to the business, providing expert HR guidance and support to our unionized manufacturing operations. This position serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and provides HR guidance and support to ensure the effective implementation of HR programs/initiatives at site level. You will play a critical role in managing employee relations, union negotiations, and HR initiatives in a unionized setting. Your goal will be to foster a positive workplace culture that aligns with our business objectives and promotes employee engagement and satisfaction.

Your key responsibilities

  • HR Partnership: Collaborate with site leadership to develop and implement HR plans that support business goals and drive organizational performance. Conduct regular assessments of HR needs, workforce planning, and talent acquisition strategies to ensure the availability of a skilled and diverse workforce. Analyse HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and actionable plans. Drives diversity and inclusion initiatives to create an engaged and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor and provide guidance to managers and employees on employee relations matters, ensuring prompt and effective resolution whilst maintaining positive employee relations. Collaborate with union representatives to negotiate bargaining agreements and address employee concerns. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and best practices. Conduct investigations into employee complaints, grievances or disciplinaries, ensuring compliance with company procedures and employment laws.
  • Talent Development and Succession Planning: Identify key talent and high-potential employees, working closely with managers to develop and implement robust development plans. Collaborate with corporate HR and learning and development teams to deliver training programs that enhance employee skills and competencies. Drive succession planning efforts by identifying critical roles, assessing talent readiness, and implementing strategies to ensure a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Partner with the Regional Total Rewards Lead to implement competitive and equitable compensation and benefits programs. Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations regarding compensation, benefits, and employment practices. Provide guidance on salary administration, incentive programs and benefits. · HR Policy and Compliance: Interpret and communicate corporate HR policies, ensuring compliance with all dsm-firmenich requirements and UK local laws and regulations. Conduct regular audits to assess HR compliance and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to mitigate HR-related risks and resolve any legal issues related to HR practices
  • L&D: Ensure everyone has access to relevant information on the Company’s development strategies and access to tools. Supports the Regional lead in the training life-cycle, including needs analysis, training strategy, training development, delivery, and evaluation of training programs and tools.

You bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience in a unionized manufacturing environment or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and collective bargaining.
  • Proven experience in managing employee relations and resolving workplace issues.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
