This role provides the chance to create new opportunities globally in alignment with global growth strategy to achieve short and long-term revenue goals. You’ll help to secure new business deals that maximize the short- and long-term revenue and profitability and be directly responsible for identifying, developing, managing customer relationships with assigned and prospective customers in early phases of sales cycles.

Your key responsibilities
- Regularly analyze startup ecosystem, market developments, technological advancements, customer needs, and competitor dynamics, providing actionable insights to commercial and cross-functional teams, to prospect, qualify, develop, propose, then hand-off new accounts
- Assess and quantify companies, and opportunities for global market expansion, share growth, and entry into current and newly identified surgical specialties, with special emphasis in start-ups domestically, and global expansion in the EMEA, China, and APAC regions
- Contribute to the strategic planning process through cross-functional collaboration across dsm-firmenich biomedical global technology sales and Product Line teams, ensuring alignment with GLT goals of globalization
- Collaborate with Global and Regional teams identifying pipeline and portfolio strategies with commercial leaders, regional marketing specialists, and new product introduction, as applicable per region
- Cultivate and maintain a global network of relationships with Domestic and International Startup hubs, drive engagement and market penetration of innovative customers that are acquisition targets
Global travel more than 50% of the time is required for this position.
The salary scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and primary work location. Salary $180,800-$196,800.

You bring
- Minimum 12 years of direct sales and/or business development experience required; Hunter Mentality/Entrepreneurial sales professional who proactively develops new business
- Strong clinical/technical understanding and affinity with medical technology specifically in Orthopedics and/or Vascular arenas. Displays deep knowledge of Biomedical product portfolio and products’ use in end-market, applications, and products’ differentiation versus competition
- In depth understanding of sales process, contracting, licensing and other tools and experience in negotiating complex sales agreements
- Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills. Customer leader who thoroughly understands customers’ needs, establishes privileged relationships and actively influences their innovation and purchasing decisions
- Strong knowledge of medical device/biomaterials/CMO industries, markets, customers, products and competing companies
- Advanced technical degree required; PhD a strong plus
