The Challenge

The Warehouse Technician is responsible for shipping & receiving loading functions, and shipping non-chemical packages and must demonstrate safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Safety

  • Give safety, health, and environment (SHE) the highest priority – always!
  • Accept personal responsibility for your own safety and health and that of your colleagues, contractors, and transport drivers.
  • Accept personal stewardship of our environment by understanding the potential impact of your job, our plant, and our business and commit to protect it in your daily activities.
  • Understand risks.  Each employee must actively participate in behavior-based safety programs.
  • Make safe choices.  All rules and procedures must be followed.  Unsafe practices will not be tolerated.  It is your responsibility to meet the standards required.
  • Participate in incident/near miss reporting and investigations.
  • Correct unsafe behavior and conditions by using good root cause analysis and generate effective corrective actions.
  • Participate in safety meetings and SHE related activities.


B. Material Control

  • Bulk raw material offloading, bulk finished product tanker loading
  • Safe operation of fork trucks
  • Loading and unloading box trucks
  • Perform cycle counts as needed
  • Drum & pail preparations and shipments for customers and outside warehouse
  • Collect packages and ship requested samples for customers, applications, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the quality department to ensure final products are approved for packaging/loading and raw materials are approved for use.
  • Maintain organized & clean department and personal workspace
  • Sustain proper identification and correct labeling of incoming raw materials, bulk and packaged. 
  • 24 hour HAZWOPER trained within the first year and then 8-hour refresher training annually thereafter.


C. Clerical/Communication

  • Departmental SAP data entry and Emergency Response Plan (ERP) system training on any new revision
  • Procedure review and updates as needed.
  • Collaborate with purchasing/planning to resolve any delivery and receiving issues.
  • Communicate with customer service regarding any issues with finished product shipment.
  • Perform other duties as instructed by shift supervisor or department manager.
  • Communicate process & mechanical issues to appropriate support staff.
  • Engage in ISO compliance.


Knowledge and Educational Level

High school diploma or GED

Required Level of Experience:

  • Relevant work experience in warehousing operations
  • Experience with chemical handling is desired
  • Experience with fork truck operation is desired
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Word/Excel and SAP computer systems is a plus
  • Lifting a maximum of 60 lb.
  • Wearing respirator/SCBA
  • Wearing of chemical suits in extreme temperatures
  • Climbing stairs
  • Working at heights on top of tankers
