The Finance Manager, FC&A is responsible for overseeing and executing finance actuals, closing, and reporting activities for assigned reporting unit(s) to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of the financial statements.

This role is responsible for handling the full sets of accounts and actively overseeing the financial closing process.

The Finance Manager, FC&A will work closely with all finance functions, tax, treasury, shared services, and business units, ensuring a true and fair view of the financial statements aligned with the business needs.

Your key responsibilities

Strategic & Leadership Responsibilities

Support continuous finance transformation, standardization, and process optimization for the assigned reporting unit in alignment with the local Finance Manager/(sub-)regional lead.
Provide financial insights to local stakeholders

Financial Control & Reporting

Oversee and execute finance actuals, closing, and reporting activities for assigned reporting unit(s) to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of financial statements.
Perform thorough sanity checks of the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement and coordinate variances analysis against actuals, including comparisons to prior periods.
Ensure compliance with dsm-firmenich Accounting Rules, international, and local statutory accounting standards to maintain integrity of financial statements and management reports.
Monitor the Balance Sheet, conduct financial variance analysis, and address open items to ensure financial stability and accuracy.
Review integrity and quality of all sub ledgers, including balance reconciliation, to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Coordinate documentation pertaining to accruals, provisions, and special items to support accurate financial reporting.
Actively oversee the financial closing process, lead pre-close meetings, define and implement mitigation actions to address issues, and drive improvements to meet defined deadlines and ensure correctness of actuals.
Provide evidence for the Internal Control Framework and follows up on remediation plans;
Coordinate the external audit process from dsm-firmenich point of view.

Process & Compliance Excellence

Support the implementation of best-in-class financial control practices across the assigned reporting unit(s).
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting, controls, and system efficiencies within the assigned reporting unit(s).

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Interact with external and internal stakeholders like auditors, government bodies, regional FC&A teams. Tax, treasury, Shared Services BU Finance and FP&A.
Support change initiatives, ensuring seamless finance integration across the assigned reporting unit(s).

You bring

5+ years of experience in financial control & accounting, or controlling roles, preferably within a multinational organization.
Proficient expertise in financial reporting, IFRS, compliance, and internal controls.
Solid communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels.
Bachelor`s or Master`s Degree in Accounting/Financial Controlling and/or Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA).
Proactive, self-motivated, and resilient, with a drive for continuous learning and growth.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
