As a Transport Coordinator you have a business critical role. You will handle shipping processes in an efficient manner to ensure that deliveries arrive on time, in full, and in good condition. This may include managing railcar and bulk truck deliveries to and from the Evansville plant; managing exports, stock transfers, and domestic shipments out of Augusta and Evansville, and posting goods receipts of materials and supplies.  Creates stock transfer shipments between DEP facilities as needed.  Processes and performs SAP transactions for requisitions, ,.  Serves as a backup to the  other Transport  Coordinator, sharing workload to ensure shipments and postings are completed accurately and timely.  Performs goods receipts for inbound shipments into external warehousing facilities.  Communicates with the Warehouse Manager when inventory discrepancies are found within DEP inventory network.  Audits errors in the EDI entry of  freight costs into SAP for outbound shipments and enters any freight costs  not sent via EDI.  Works closely with Transportation Manager and Transport Coordinator to monitor, measure, report, and drive continuous improvement activities with 3PL and other logistics partners.   


The Evansville, IN manufacturing plant is futureproofing and expanding the capacity of its high-performance materials compounding facility.  The extensive modernization and expansion of the site is being driven by increasing customer demand for advanced material solutions for electrification, metal replacement and light-weighting in multiple industries. It includes the addition of the latest state-of-the-art production technologies, increasing efficiency and sustainability throughout the facility.
What can you expect in your work?
 
You’ll be responsible to:   
•    Position focuses on daily operational tasks to support logistics activities at Evansville and external warehouse locations.
•    Ensures orders are processed in a timely manner for shipping
•    Prepares foreign documents for shipments outside the United States
•    Coordinates with 3PL and transportation providers to ship products and materials.
•    Schedules bulk shipments with carriers or 3PL provider.
•    Posts transactions in SAP including receipts, deliveries, and returns
•    Posts goods receipts of raw materials at external tolling partners and resale materials at external warehouses.
•    Complies with all position requirements as defined in DSM's internal control, quality system and SHE requirements, policies and procedures.
•    Assists Quality Department with sampling requests
•    Ensures all postings are completed in a timely manner.
•    Performs special projects and related duties as assigned.

What we look for in you
We want a team player who has experience working within a warehouse environment and values the accuracy and timelines set in place.  A professional that values safety and detailed documentation. Communicate effectively with Logistics Service Providers, 3PL partners, Warehouse providers, Warehouse Manager, Site Logistics Department, Customer Service and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.

Communicate daily with Transportation Manager to ensure all tasks are completed. 

Often under time pressure due to changing market dynamics, company and departmental objectives, projects and other initiatives.

Serve as backup for Transportation Manager , which requires having responsibility for all inbound and outbound processing and posting for all plants and warehouses.  It is vital that the Transport Coordinator stay abreast of significant developments that may impact any of these locations.

What we like to see in your experience:
•    Good working knowledge of SAP and good skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Working knowledge of Access is also desired.
•    High level basic math ability.
•    Minimum two-year Associates Degree in Transportation and Logistics or five years transportation experience in Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, and/or international logistics.
•    Working knowledge and skills in warehousing and inventory management are desired.
