Join our team as a skilled Electrical Instrumentation Technician, who will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting plant electrical systems from 480VAC to 24VDC. You’ll support reliable production by repairing process and packaging equipment and resolving issues with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other controls. This role also ensures accurate operations through instrumentation setup and calibration and consistent documentation in CMMS and Excel. If you’re driven by hands‑on problem‑solving and maintaining safe, compliant operations, this position puts you at the center of keeping our systems running smoothly. 

 

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Maintain and troubleshoot plant electrical distribution panels
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all 480vac to 24vdc plant electrical systems and Motor Control Centers
  • Use Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, Mechanical and Operational skills to be able to troubleshoot and repair process and packaging equipment (fillers, conveyors, drives, packers, palletizers, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives and other electronically controlled equipment
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Melter Toledo scales
  • Install, setup, calibrate, inspect, and troubleshoot process instrumentation equipment
  • Troubleshoot PLC and HMI (Wonderware and other) programming

You bring

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3–5 years of electrical and instrumentation experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to perform under shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ISA, GMPs, and safe practices in chemical facilities.
  • Trade school, military, or industrial EI&C education and ISA Level 1 certification preferred.
  • Skilled with 480VAC systems, electrical tools, schematics, and integrating electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation troubleshooting.
  • Familiar with PLC‑5, SLC‑500, ControlLogix, DeltaV, Siemens, GE, PowerFlex, servo controls, and HMI platforms like Wonderware and PanelView

 

 

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $35.00 - $40.00.
